PARKING IN DUBROVNIK
If you are planning to drive to Dubrovnik, please be aware that the famous Old Town is completely pedestrian and parking can be ridiculously expensive. The streets surrounding the Old Town are best suited for donkeys and most of the nearby parking is reserved for residents only. There are rumours that the ring road surrounding the Old Town will become restricted to registered vehicles in 2025. We’re waiting to see what this will actually entail but keep it in mind when planning your trip.
If you require parking during your stay in Dubrovnik, here are some options:
PARKING WITH A PURPOSE:
This is the most convenient and closest place you can securely park near the Old Town in a private one car garage. Parking is 50 EUR/day. Even better? You get a free cat!
Located just five minutes walk from Ploce Gate (the best gate to access the Old Town), all proceeds go towards supporting Nelly's Trust (a volunteer based cat welfare group dedicated to improving the lives of street cats in Bol & Dubrovnik).
It is not mandatory to take the free cat. But if you are interested in adopting, Nelly’s is always looking for a good home for their rescue kittens and cats. Please note, this parking is exclusive to guests of The Byron and available on a first come, first serve basis.
2. DUBROVNIK PAY PARKING
There are several public parking lots in Dubrovnik. The ones closest to the Old Town can be quite expensive and are often full. Make sure to double check the prices before you commit. The parking lot at Pile Gate charges 10 EUR/hour (240 EUR/day)....
3. DUBROVNIK DAILY PARKING
Private parking can also be found at www.dubrovnikdailyparking.com. This parking is further from Ploce Gate (@ 20 minute walk).
4. RENTAL CAR PARKING
If you are planning to arrive or depart by rental car, consider using an agency that offers city center pick-up or drop-off. That way you can avoid paying for parking while you are in Dubrovnik. Also, the airport is about 25-35 minutes drive from the Old Town so you will also save time.
